These Terms govern your use of the Grove iOS application and this website at grovehealth.org. By installing, opening, or using Grove, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Grove.
"Grove," "we," "us," or "our" refers to Grove Health, the operator of the Grove app and grovehealth.org. "You" refers to the person using Grove.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Grove (16 in the European Economic Area). If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Grove only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You may not use Grove if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
Your account
To use Grove you create an account, either with email and password or by signing in with Apple or Google. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your account credentials confidential.
- Be responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Notify us promptly at hello@grovehealth.org if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
One human, one account. You may not share your account or sell access to it.
Acceptable use
When using Grove, you agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on Grove's servers or infrastructure.
- Use Grove to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or to non-public areas of our systems.
- Use Grove's data or output to make medical, employment, insurance, or similar consequential decisions about yourself or anyone else.
Subscriptions and billing
Free tier and Grove+
Grove offers a free tier that includes your daily recovery score and a focused home view. Grove+ is an optional paid subscription that unlocks unlimited history, deeper metric breakdowns (HRV, SpO₂, respiratory rate, training load, sleep consistency), seasonal ecosystem evolution, and other premium features as we add them.
Trial
Grove+ may begin with a 7-day free trial when you first subscribe. The trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel beforehand.
Pricing and renewal
Grove+ is billed annually at the price displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase (currently $30 per year for new subscribers, subject to change). Subscriptions automatically renew at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and again at each renewal.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time on your iPhone via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Grove. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Refunds for App Store subscriptions are handled by Apple and are at Apple's discretion under their policies.
Changes to pricing or features
We may change the price or feature set of Grove+ from time to time. Where law requires, we will notify you in advance and you will have the opportunity to cancel before the change takes effect.
Our content and yours
Grove, including the app, the grovehealth.org website, the visual design, the biome rendering, the scoring algorithms, and the trademarks "Grove" and the Grove logo, are owned by Grove Health and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Grove for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
You retain ownership of any content or input you provide. By submitting feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use them to improve Grove without compensation or attribution. We will not publish anything that personally identifies you without your permission.
Disclaimers
Grove is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Recovery scores, sleep scores, strain values, and any other output from Grove are estimates derived from sensor data. Sensors fail. Algorithms are imperfect. Real life is messier than any model. Treat Grove's output as one input among many.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grove and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of Grove — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or Grove will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) US$50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Grove Health and its officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Grove, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
Termination
You may stop using Grove and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if your use of Grove harms or threatens to harm us or other users, or if we are required to do so by law. We will give you reasonable notice where possible and where doing so would not undermine the reason for termination.
If your account is terminated, the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California (or the state in which Grove Health is registered, if different — to be confirmed by Grove Health), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and Grove agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in that state for any dispute that is not required by law to be resolved elsewhere.
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose law grants you mandatory consumer-protection rights, nothing in these Terms limits those rights, and you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of Grove after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
